Working in Oil, Acrylic and Watercolour, Doug selects the media that will best suit the subject. His art conveys a sense of atmosphere and location, rather than just producing a photographic rendering.

“I want the viewer of my paintings to experience the joy I had in their creation, and to see even familiar things in a new way. A painting should expand the wall that it is on, and allow the viewer to enter a new dimension.”

A Fine Arts graduate of the Ontario College of Art, he is currently represented by galleries in Scotland, and Toronto Canada.

Doug teaches workshops in Canada and the United States and his book “Color Secrets for Glowing Oil Paintings”, is published by Northlight Publication of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Doug’s work is held in many private collections as far afield as Japan, Britain, the US and Canada. He is also in Canadian Corporate collections of:
